Dr Katie Ford is a physical therapist and strength coach practicing in her beloved hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

In addition to working with a wide variety of athletic injuries and developing cross-training programs to mitigate injury risk, Dr Ford specializes in working with complex medical conditions such as:

-
Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and other connective tissue disorders
-
Symptomatic hypermobility and dysautonomia
-
Autoimmune conditions such as Lupus, Rheumatoid arthris, Sjogren's syndrome and Hashimoto's disease
-
Chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia, migraines, myofascial pain syndrome, CRPS, arthritis and central sensitization
"For those of us with chronic health conditions, we have to create longterm management strategies around the issue that brought us to physical therapy in the first place--that achy shoulder is definitely going to act up again. My goal for all of my patients is to help them quickly develop both short-term and long-term management strategies so that they can get back to doing the things that they love as soon as possible."

In addition to individualized exercise therapy and general strength training, she utilizes modalities such as:

-
Manual therapy and assisted stretching
-
Dry needling
-
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Manipulation (IASTM)
-
Joint mobilizations
-
Neuromuscular training
-
Sports-specific training
-
Pacing strategies and autonomic modulation
-
Foundational health education and disease-specific lifestyle modifications

When she's not with clients and patients, she spends her free time reading about anything and everything, enthusing about all things strength and conditioning, petting dogs, and spending time with her family.
